We are very proud to show our support for about 25% of our bakers who identify with LGBTQ community by creating these colourful delicious cookies.
We followed the six colours in the rainbow pride flag that was established in 1979: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for spirit.

My name is Isabella Rowe, or Bella for short. I am currently a baker to be upskilled as a Cookie Captain at The Cookie Project and I am an artist and a gamer in my free time.
I am Pansexual, which means that I am sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity.
I found out that I was pansexual when I was in school, but at the time didn’t understand what it was. I thought there was something wrong with me for being able to love someone regardless of their sexual or gender identity.
So I push those feelings down and try my hardest to be straight. But it made me very depressed and lonely for years. When finally came out as pansexual to my family they didn’t understand why I was pansexual and they were very shocked when I told them.
Some of my friends were very shocked and I lost them because of coming out. But some were also very happy that I was happy about my sexual identity.
Coming out for me was the hardest thing that I have ever done because I was soo scared of losing my friends or my family. I thought people would hate me for it but as time has passed I am happy I come out because I finally feel free to be myself.
The Cookie Project gives me a sense of belonging for welcoming and accepting me soo much. When I came out to them that I was pansexual, they were so supportive and nice about it and made me feel proud to be pansexual. On top of that, my fellow bakers have been really supportive about it as well which made me feel very accepted and loved.
Thank you for supporting our Pride Cookies and changing the lives of Kiwis like me.
